Starline Pacific Inc. Thermo Film Cutting and Pressing Instructions

Whenever you are trying a new Thermo Film material you should always test cut to ensure proper depth, speed and down force of your cutting blade as some of our Thermo Film's may require different cut settings. It is also recommended that you test press onto the material to ensure proper temperature, press time and fabric adhesion.
Flex Vinyl (PR400's & PR600's)
1. Create your design in graphics software, and then mirror the image in the effects menu.
2. Load the Flex material into your plotter.
3. Start your plotter to cut the material (in mirror image).
4. Weed the unwanted bits from the carrier sheet that you do not want to transfer.
5. Place the weeded image face down on the surface to which you are transferring the film with the carrier sheet facing up.
6. Place a Teflon sheet between the heat platen and the carrier sheet to prevent sticking and edge damage to the transferred design.
7. Heat press between 345° F - 350° F for 20 seconds using firm even pressure.
8. Peel warm or cold, DO NOT PEEL HOT, allow at least 10 seconds of cooling time before peeling.
9. For greater durability, after peeling the carrier sheet, cover with a Teflon sheet and repress for 10 seconds.
Washing Instructions: Turn garment inside out before washing. Wash in warm to hot water with mild detergent. Tumble dry on low to high heat.

Flock (PR500's)

7. Heat press between 310° F - 330° F for 10 - 15 seconds using firm even pressure.
8. Allow to completely cool and peel cold, DO NOT PEEL HOT OR WARM. Peel with care, the metal foils have a tendency to peel with the backing if too much heat or dwell time is applied or the design is not completely cooled. If some of the foil is not fully adhereing to the garment, cover with a teflon sheet and reheat.
Washing Instructions: Turn garment inside out before washing and use cold water, gentle cycle, dry low heat.
***This decorative material should be handled with care. Metallic foils will not have the stretch and rebound characteristics of some of our other heat applied materials and are not appropriate for certain applications. Discretion should be used regarding the intended use of the garment.
